You may have noticed that our team traveled to North Carolina for our bi-annual visit to the High Point Market recently. Two times a year, we hop on a flight and head east to snag spots at the largest furnishings trade show in the world. Founded in 1909, this must-see moment is available to those in the home furnishings industry. These two annual events host tens of thousands of attendees from more than 100 countries. We were lucky to be included within those attendees, eager to explore the latest High Point Market has to offer.
Coordinating these High Point Market visits gives our design team a chance to peek at the latest innovations and allows us our first opportunity to test out furniture and accessories in person. Our clients rely on our expertise and experience to advise on the products and level of quality, so this step is critical. From our most recent visit we’ve noticed a couple of outstanding timeless options that we anticipate to fill the lovely homes of our clients this season and beyond. Continue to learn more about these popular choices and to get a first-hand look at the showrooms!
Impactful Jewel Hues at High Point Market
The market was packed with color to suit every taste but one of our favorite surprises was the unexpected pops of cobalt blue. There are few shades as impactful as cobalt blue. This vibrant choice immediately invigorates a space with energy and a sense of luxury. The market also highlighted several warm color stories, with a sea of taupe, terra cotta, burnt orange, and caramel leathers, the sophisticated autumnal inspiration is in high gear.
Heavy Boucles & Organic Shaped Furniture
Textural fabrics on upholstered goods, like homey, nubby fabrics appeared in neutral shades of whites, off whites, and ivories. These voluptuous silhouettes were widely popular last year and the curved furniture style did not let up this year. High Point Market delivered curved and soft-edged pieces. There was also the continuation of organic-shaped pieces. These asymmetrical coffee tables, wall art pieces, and other decorative objects infused quality raw organic design with irregular curves and flows that inspire a sense of nature.
Those were just a couple of our favorite design trends from High Point Market. We’re particularly excited about polished hematite finishes in lighting & accent furniture, in addition to modern, luxury high gloss lacquered finishes. After our industry preview, we are currently back in the office reviewing the incredible options and gathering inspiration for our clients’ upcoming projects. These visits are always an opportunity to energize and source vision for our upcoming year of projects. We’re beyond grateful to attend every year for one of the biggest events of our industry and find an abundance of inspiration each time for the talented artisans and creators across the globe. Here’s to watching how these latest design directions take center stage in our interior designs.
